I unfortunately can’t connect to any of them even if I had the key.
One is to the manuals available from Dell, the other is from a site called eHow, which I have gotten good info from in the past. I do have an ethernet port and I am able to directly plug into my router so using my laptop in my basement office is not a problem but if I want to move the laptop anywhere else it then becomes a big problem. I tried adjusting the firewall a while ago and still no luck I can see my router and I was able to put in my wep key but it still will not connect.
I can’t say as I am still new to it although I have looked at many different flavors and distributions out there. So I fixed it I also installed all of the ndiswrappers and all of the wireless stuff I could find so between that and changing the key to WEP I finally fixed it. I wonder if you are entering the proper encryption key for your router?
Must be something wrong with how the software is written as Inyel can see networks so I know it wasn’t off. Please login or register.

Maybe you could try a different kernel,possibly an older one. The F2 key is located conection the topmost row of keys on the Dell keyboard.

I hope this helps with your problem. If there’s a harder way to do something I’ll probably find it. Press the F2 key again to turn off Wi-Fi on the Dell laptop. I don’t even think you can do that with Linux and the FN key that controls the functions at the top of the keyboard.
