Creative Librarian reads my mind…

…or my blog. Or something. Her quote from a recent Library Juice article is definitely a reminder that the librarian stereotype is full of positive points, too. We’re a smart bunch, we librarians, and people know it. Sometimes it means that people think we know everything. And, well, some librarians do know a big, whole lot, *especially* the librarians who have been on Jeopardy (Erhard *rawks*). Me, I know some stuff, but my skill is knowing how and where to find it all, and, well, retaining really random bits of information.

I can definitely relate to Rory Litwin describing how the library profession was something that “fit” him, and he came to it on his own terms, not because he checked a bunch of boxes off of societal checklist of stereotypical librarian characteristics. My information junky nature is what brought me to librarianship. That and the utter fabulousness of being able to get paid for activities I considered hobbies before.

Coolness, Laura. Thanx.

What you should know about me
An avid social networker, I've always been a technologist and information science, with a penchant for problem solving and bent for the creative. I was a librarian for a little while, too.
