Mobile Usability & Teens: Going Mobile and Agile
I can’t make it to this event, sponsored by the Usability Professionals’ Association Boston Chapter, but if you’re at all interest in how the younger set does what they do and the connections to usability (librarians: pay attention to this stuff whenever you can, seriously), and you’re in the Metro Boston area, you should totally hit this event. It’s free, but you do need to RSVP (see the site for details).
“Mobile Usability & Teens: Going Mobile and Agile” – Hilary Coolidge, Molecular
Wednesday, March 19, 2008
The MathWorks (Cafeteria), 3 Apple Hill Drive, Natick MA 01760
Digital Natives – who are they and what do they do? A new generation of kids are growing up with mobile devices as a natural part of their world of work, communication, social networking and entertainment. Knowing how kids perceive and use mobile devices is becoming increasingly important as mobile application and device development grows and adapts to this upcoming market. Molecular conducted a usability study focusing on teen’s use of their mobile devices and interaction with a mobile social networking application for a Fortune 100 client. This presentation covers the growing use of mobile devices by an increasingly younger demographic group, the ways in which kids use their devices, and how to capture this trend effectively in usability studies.
Light refreshments will be served, and if it’s anything like the last UPA event I attended, it’ll be a nice spread.
