“Militant radical librarians”
Yes, this story has probably made the web and blog rounds ad nauseum (however, I’m very greatful to my friend Jeanne for sending me the story, I’m behind in my blog reading, as usual), so I’m not here to dwell on it. But I did hear a related listener comment on NPR’s Morning Edition that I found entertaining.
To paraphrase, she said that she was sitting at the drive-through window of her library when she heard the story on NPR, and suddently imagined the librarians of her library wearing flack jackets and fatigues, protecting her library records.
Nice.
The recording should be up on NPR after 8:30a EST. The snippet is in the listener comments section of the broadcast, maybe 30 minutes in.
So who’s gonna make the “Militant Radical Librarian” buttons? On a camo background, with letters in nice, bright, yellow, military font? I’m on the Reading Public Library annual reference field trip today so I can’t do it, but I’m guessing there’ll be a Cafe Press or even free-to-all-requesters offering relatively soon.
